Pharmacist

Job Summary Compounds and dispenses medications according to physician or authorized medical practitioner's prescription or written orders. Evaluates drugs prescribed for appropriateness of dose, therapeutic efficacy, allergy, drug interaction, and contraindications. Consults with physician as needed. Advises patient concerning use of prescription. Procures, packages, and stores pharmaceuticals. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. Possesses and maintains current Maryland Pharmacist licensure. Preferred Qualifications Previous work experience in hospital pharmacy, preferred. Department Specific Qualifications Primary Duties and Responsibilities Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations. Orients, instructs and supervises personnel in the Pharmacy. Receives physician's prescriptions and nurse's orders for pharmaceuticals, interprets prescriptions and calculates appropriate dose based on the age of the patient being served. Prepares medications according to formula, or selects prepackaged medications. Uniform labeling of medications according to established procedure and rechecks labels before filling the order. Prepares and submits reports for Federal and State agencies. Performs chart and Pyxis audits as needed to monitor drug utilization. Provide drug consultations for patients and staff. Gives drug details to medical and nursing staff. Supervises the centralized preparation of all pharmaceuticals, including intravenous solutions, oral liquids and solids, irrigation fluids, and other parenteral medications. Responsible for the preparation and utilization of medication profiles for each patient to allow monitoring the patient's drug therapies. Supervises the unit-dose drug distribution system which includes the dispensing of all oral solids and liquids as sell as parenteral injectables in unit-dose containers. Performs other duties as assigned. $80K -- $100K

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
