Mary's Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is on the hunt for a qualified Director of Nursing to lead and oversee our nursing department.
As Director of Nursing, your central goal will be to develop a collaborative and efficient workplace with specific attention to quality patient care.
You will perform a range of duties including maintaining department budgets, setting long-term goals, and overseeing record-keeping processes.
The ideal candidate for this position has proven experience in nursing leadership and long-term care, and outstanding organizational skills, and in-depth knowledge of healthcare industry policies.
She/He will report to the Administrator.
Specifically, the Director of Nursing's job duties include:
Directing the nursing program, including implementing new policies and procedures when necessary Overseeing hiring, firing, and development of nursing staff Communicating with families, residents, and physicians as needed Developing a business plan and budget for the nursing unit Participating in creating resident care plans and ensuring they are followed Ensuring the nursing unit is compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations
Qualifications:
Must possess an RN Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state Must have proven leadership ability with two (2) years of experience in nursing services administration and in long-term care.
Documented training and/or experience in a setting providing services to the same age/type of resident population served by this center Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate skills related to management, planning, and budgeting Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to center functions Knowledge of accreditation standards and regulation compliance requirements DIRECT REPORTS:

Responsibilities:
As Director of Nursing, you are responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the functions of the nursing department.
You will assume the primary role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and safe patient care.
Supervises Unit Managers, Clinical Nurses, and Nursing Assistants In the absence of the Administrator, you are charged with carrying out the resident care policies established by this center.
Set and monitor achievement of goals and objectives for the nursing department consistent with established philosophy and standards of practice and nursing ethics.
Recruit, hire and retain qualified nursing staff to deliver efficient resident care in accordance with the established staffing plan and state-mandated staffing requirements Evaluate and continually update competency/skills checklists for nursing staff including contracted staff.
Prepare and assure adherence to an annual operating budget for the nursing department Maintain and guide the implementation of current policies and procedures, which reflect adherence to corporate and external regulatory guidelines and principles of person-centered care.
Collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team.
Assure compliance with resident rights policies and work to resolve resident grievances.
Prepare and assure adherence to an annual operating budget for the nursing department.

Planning and overseeing admission, nursing, and patient care processes.
Developing short and long-term goals for the entire nursing department.
Coordinating with medical staff and other departments to ensure nursing facility efficiency.
Overseeing all record-keeping processes and ensuring all necessary documents are accurate and up-to-date.
