Pathology Transcriptionist/Sec
Job Summary Greets, assists, and directs visitors, physicians, patients, and other hospital clients.
Transcribes histopathology reports, answers telephone calls and takes messages for management and staff.
Handles incoming mail.
Maintains a calendar and schedule of meetings, reports, and other time dependent activities of the Medical Chief, Dept.
of Pathology, the Medical Director of Laboratories and the Director of Laboratory Services.

Perform duties of Pathology Secretary when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
One year stenographic or secretarial experience in the medical field.
Preferred QualificationsDepartment Specific QualificationsPrimary Duties and Responsibilities Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards.
Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Transcribes pathology reports accurately and timely.
Answers all phone and written inquiries for pathology reports and specimens.
Maintains log for referred specimens and assure reports are received and forwarded to physicians as required or requested.
Researches and collects data, and provides reports for pathology Quality Improvement studies.
Obtains, prioritizes, and distributes mail correspondence daily.
Files pathology slides as required.
Maintains secured file log and specimens.
Provides secretarial support for the Laboratory management team, including Administrative Director, Medical Director, LIS Manager, Section Chiefs and /or Supervisors.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
